What is editing?
Our advanced editing service ensures that you receive a well-written document with impeccable language, grammar, word choice, sentence structure and terminology. The words proofreading and editing are often used interchangeably. However, compared to proofreading, editing involves a much more thorough look at the text. When editing, we correct errors in structure, logic, flow, style, format and consistency in addition to offering a complete language check. We edit, proofread and re-write your documents to make sure that you create the best impression.
In addition to the checks and amendments of our proofreading services, we thoroughly edit the text, meaning that we check for
- → Adecuat style
- → Consistency in terminology & style
- → Redundancies
- → Comprehensibility
- → Logic, flow, relevance, clarity
- → Word choice
- → Adaptation to the target audience
If there are logical inconsistencies or ambiguities in the text, we dig deeper and try to understand the actual meaning of the text.
We suggest ways for clarifying argumentation and logic and modify seemingly contradictory arguments to ensure that your text speaks precisely, clearly and correctly to your target audience.

What is the difference between proofreading and editing?
The words proofreading and editing are often used interchangeably. However, there is a substantial difference between the two. When proofreading, the text is reviewed in terms of spelling, grammar, punctuation and capitalisation. Editing on the other hand involves a much more thorough look at the text. It combines proofreading together with a revision of the overall structure of the text for continuity and factual accuracy. As a consequence, proofreading a text may take an hour while editing the same text may take up to two or three hours.
